I talk about my unfinished work a good bit on this blog, and for good reason. I HAVE SO MUCH STINKING WORK STARTED. Here, right now I vow to finish one piece TODAY.
Now, for the meat and 'taters... Check out the photos above. They are two self portraits I've been working on from my art class with Staci. The images on the left are from an OZ themed portrait we started in February, and the one on the right is a portrait we started in March. The only requirement on the portrait on the right is that we use an unusual method of drawing, so I chose to cut lines through the illustration board before painting it, and then peel away portions of the painted surface. It worked, but now I am not sure where to go next. I fear if I pull away the other painted surfaces to reveal a white surface, the shapes wil get lost and it will no longer look like my face. I could always paint the new white lines with lighter shades of blue to keep each area's value. Thoughts?
My friend Lucas posted this on his blog www.lucasfoxxx.com the other day. I loved it, then stole it!
